Look Up!

Have you ever heard or used the phrase "once in a blue moon"? The phrase is used when referring to something that doesn't happen frequently. Tomorrow, January 31st, we will experience a lunar phenomenon that only happens...well..."once in a blue moon": a Super Blue Blood Moon!

OK. Here is what I now know about the phenom:

Super = Not only will it be a full Moon, but it will be closer to the earth, at least 14% bigger and 30% brighter than other full Moons, thus making it "superior".

Blue = This has nothing to do with the actual color of the moon, but the occurrence itself. "Blue Moons" only happen when a Moon is full twice in a calendar month, which is very rare. We had a full Moon on January 1st and tomorrow's marks the second this month. The last Blue Moon was on July 31, 2015.

Blood = The color of the moon will appear to be a dark, reddish color, similar to the color of blood.

As you can see, the occurrence of Blue Moons is quite rare. But to experience a Super, Blue, Blood Moon all at once is extraordinarily uncommon!

So it is expected that for the common stargazer, seeing this astronomical rarity is amazing and worth waking up a few minutes (or in some cases, a few hours) earlier than usual to witness.

Yet, for us Believers, this Super Blue Blood Moon is more than "just an awesome sight to behold." It is utterly amazing because Jesus admonished His Children to look up at the heavens as a sign of His return! He explains that before His return, there will be a lot of "interesting" things happening in the skies.

This lunar event is not one for Believers to take for granted or let slip under our radar. The world has already hyped it up to be "just another thing that is happening." Instead, let 's use tomorrow's event as our reminder to remain vigilant! The world seems to operate comfortably in chaos. We must continue to shine our Light because darkness can not remain in the presence of Light! We are Christ on earth. We are His Body!

While no one knows the exact date, day or time when Jesus will return, He does tell us to get ready and stay ready because He is coming!

Selah!

I love hearing from you, so let's chat!

*Are you prepared for Christ's return?

If you answered, "I'm not ready, TC!", please take a few moments to pray this simple prayer:

"Dear God in heaven, Your Word says that You sent Jesus Christ so that "whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." I thank You, because I believe You raised Jesus from the dead for my justification. I confess Jesus is Lord. Therefore, I believe that I am saved according to Your Word. You have now made me Your righteousness in Christ. You have delivered me from all bondage and make me safe. You preserve me, heal, and make me whole in Jesus' name. Amen."

Additionally, please read these scriptures to learn more about why salvation in Christ is needed and how you can begin applying the solution to your life:

The Need: Romans 5:12 - "When Adam sinned, sin entered the entire human race."

The Solution: John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son so that everyone who believes in Him would not perish but have eternal life."

Applying the Solution: Romans 10:9-10: "For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved."

If you answered, "I think I'm ready. But I'm really not too sure, TC", please take a few moments to pray this simple prayer because I want you to have full confidence and freedom of your salvation through Christ:

"Heavenly Father, Your Word says if I confess with my mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in my heart that You raised Him from the dead that I would be saved. I have already done this, so I am saved. According to Your Word, my righteousness is not determined by my thoughts or feelings, only my faith. I thank You for forgiving my sin, in Jesus' name. Amen."

Additionally, please read these scripture to learn more about your assurance of salvation:

2 Corinthians 5:7 - "That is why we live by believing and not seeing."

Romans 10:9-10 - "For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved."
