Voters showed up and showed out at the polls when they overwhelmingly voted yes on Prop 7, the initiative to end daylight savings time in California. Although we are waiting for confirmation, I believe daylight savings time will end and there will be no more falling back or springing up! #YesonProp7
Thanksgiving is Coming!!
Everyone knows by now that my favorite holiday of all is Thanksgiving. The time spent with family while enjoying good food is priceless and I do not take it for granted. We've officially planned the menu and I am ready to eat! #ThanksgivingCountdown
Black Girl Magic!!
Working in the superior court, it was rare to see African American judicial officers and if they were African American AND female, I would just about gasp in awe. This week, all NINETEEN (19) AFRICAN AMERICAN, WOMEN who ran for judge in Harris County, Texas were elected!! All. Nineteen. Let that sink in! Amazing! This was equally significant for my daughter Kayla to see because she says she will be a judge when she grows up. Through their examples, she sees it is possible. #BlackGirlMagic
New BCF Member!!
This weekend, our daughter Jazmyn will attend "Discovering Berith", membership classes for those interested in wanting to know more about and/or being a member of our church, Berith Christian Fellowship. The significance of her attendance is that LT and I didn't force her to attend nor did she tell us of her decision to attend until after she signed up. Once she goes through the classes and if she decides she wants to join, she will officially be connected to BCF and all the privileges of being a member of a church body. I'm excited for her future! #DiscoveringBerith
It's Our Date Night!!
How could this not be a highlight?! Ya'll already know how excited I get for every other Friday to roll around. Tonight is my turn to plan and I am (as always) looking forward to spending time with my Boo Thang! #ThompsonDateNight
