Friday's Fab Fortunes {8.12.16}
Wow! It's Friday already! I've had such a great week and thought I'd share some highlights with you. Enjoy!
"giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ," ~ Ephesians 5:20 (NKJV)
I created a new logo!!
While it is still in the rough draft phase, I am looking forward to its debut!! The next step is to find a graphic design artist who can perfect it. Know any??? If so, please send them my way!!
I FINALLY had breakfast at Chick-Fil-A ® !
I was so excited when they opened a Chick-Fil-A ® within miles from our house. Until they did, I only enjoyed their food while on vacations. Since they've opened, we've spent more than a few family dinner outings and date nights there. But when LT started talking about how good the breakfast sandwiches were and how he "conveniently" made time to stop there on his way to business meetings, I knew I had to try. This week, he scheduled a morning for us to eat breakfast there and man, oh man! I never would have thought that a simple biscuit and a piece of fried chicken could be sooooo deliciously goooooood! [I brought one home for lunch and I didn't feel guilty at all. I even thought about traveling back the next morning to get another... but I resisted.]
Simone Biles took home the Gold at the 2016 Summer Olympics!
This week Simone Biles made history! At 19 years old, she lead the 2016 US Women's Gymnastics Team to gold and then became the 2016 All-Around Champion! Not only is she the first female gymnast since 1974 to win four consecutive All-Around titles at the US National Championships, she is also the first woman to be All-Around Champion three years in a row!! And if that's not enough, she has won a total of 14 world championship medals --the most ever woman by an American woman. Period!!! Gone 'head, Ms. Simone!!! You are an inspiration to all -- young, old, black, white, male, female...
I lost some inches!!
On July 7th, I committed to a healthier lifestyle. It's been a little over a month and I've stuck to my goal of increasing my exercise and eating more moderately than in the past. (I AM NOT ON A DIET!) This week, I feel like my hard work is paying off. Although I have lost some pounds, my goal is not to focus on weighing a specific number, so I really don't pay much attention to the scale (although I do weigh myself). My highlight is that without my prodding, LT commented that he could tell that I was 'skinnier in some places'. Then Jazzy said that my jeans 'were saggy in the butt area'. I smiled! Hard! YAY!
Lorenzo and I celebrated our 7th year of marriage!!
On August 7, 2009, LT and I were married and this year we celebrated our 7th year of marital bliss. I still feel like we are newlyweds and yet it feels like we have been together a lot longer. It may sound a bit cliché, but every day that I've been married to him is an adventure and a dream come true. I've learned so much from him and thank God every day for blessing me with him. Maintaining a loving, blissful, exciting marriage is definitely work, but with LT as my covenant partner for life, it's so much easier. I love my life and I love doing life with him.
