Friday's Fab Fortunes {2.9.18}

It's Friday and you know what that means!!! Here are this week's top five Fortunes for which I am grateful! Enjoy!

"giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ," ~ Ephesians 5:20 (NKJV)

Black History: Claudette Colvin!!

On March 2, 1955, 15 year old Claudette Colvin boarded a Montgomery, Alabama public bus. When she refused to give up her seat to a white, male passenger, the police were summoned and she was dragged from the bus. She was subjected to their racial slurs and brutality before being hauled away to jail, where she was charged with disorderly conduct, violating the segregation ordinance, and assault and battery. This was nine months before Rosa Parks' famous protest. However, due to Colvin's young age, social class (she lived in one of the poorest sections in Montgomery) and because some believed her morality was questionable (after the arrest, she became pregnant by a much older, married man), some black leaders felt she was not a suitable symbol for racial injustice for the rest of the nation. Ultimately, Rosa Parks would take on the role. #ClaudetteColvin #BlackHistoryMonth

Our Washer Arrived!

When we sold our last place, we left our washer and dryer behind. Rather than purchase new ones right away, we decided to wait and I have been lugging our clothes to the laundromat (or "wash house", as I call it.) ever since. As of this week, my days at the wash house are numbered because our new washer arrived and the dryer is on the way! To some, this may not seem "highlightable", but if you read last week's Fab Five and what happened, you already know! #ByeWashHouse

Stay Tuned!!

This week, I had the pleasure of catching up with a former coworker. The story behind how she was led to contact me is a testimony in and of itself, but the time we spent on the phone laughing, encouraging and exchanging testimonies was priceless. It was during that conversation that God revealed how He wants us to work together on a project much more powerful and impactful than we could ever imagine! Our interaction is confirmation that when you follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, you will be blessed by your obedience. #StayTuned

Future Project!!

Although I won't go into the details now (because the Holy Spirit hasn't revealed the details to us yet), I will say that I've been given the opportunity to collaborate on a project that will empower, heal and lead other woman to walk in their God-given purpose. Next week, my partner and I will meet to discuss this huge opportunity and the next steps. Right now, I claim that through God's leading by the Holy Spirit, this project is successful, victorious and that the lives of many are transformed because of their participation and God will get the Glory. In Jesus' Name! Amen. #GodsPlan

Happy Birthday, Mommy!!

On Wednesday, February 7th, my mom turned 63 years young! Don't worry, she doesn't mind me telling her age. She basks in her youthfulness :) To many, she is strength personified. To many, she is a diva. To many, she is a mentor. To all, she is a friend. To me, she is all those things and much more. But most importantly, and above all, she is my Mommy. I love you, Mommy! Hope you had a beautiful birthday and I wish you many more years to come, filled with the manifested blessings you deserve! #HappyBirthdayMommy
